Forest Inventory

Comprehensive forest inventory for young and mature stands

Heligrafics’ Forest Inventory service covers both young plantations, where survival rate and initial establishment are assessed, and mature stands, focused on characterizing forest structure, volume and productivity.

To achieve this, we integrate advanced remote sensing technologies, airborne and terrestrial LiDAR, and high-resolution photogrammetric cameras, enabling an accurate, efficient and sustainable characterization of forest resources.

Young Plantations

Survival and establishment

Mature Plantations

Structure, volume, and productivity

High-resolution airborne data with LiDAR sensors and multispectral cameras

Through specialized flights with:

Optech LiDAR sensors

RIEGL sensors

High-resolution RGB (Red, Green, Blue) cameras

High-resolution NIR (Near Infrared) cameras

We obtain three-dimensional point clouds with millions of measurements per hectare and high-resolution multispectral mosaics.

This information makes it possible to describe the forest with unprecedented detail: volume, basal area, dominant height, canopy density, pruning height and spatial distribution of each individual tree.

Terrestrial LiDAR (TLS) complements airborne data with a detailed reading of each tree’s structure, enabling the generation of trunk models, profiles and complete tree-level censuses in sample plots. This leads to more accurate estimates of forest volumes.

Want to reduce costs and increase accuracy in your forest inventories?

Our service offers a comprehensive, digital, scalable and safer inventory than traditional methods. Transform your forest management decisions with high-precision data.

Advantages of digital forest inventory over traditional methods:

Full coverage of the inventoried area instead of isolated sample plots.

Reduced field time and lower exposure of personnel on the ground.

Ability to update inventories using the same flight data.

Greater accuracy in dasometric estimates and analyses (tree and stand dimensions).

Results Ready for Geospatial Analysis and Digital Models

The results are delivered in digital formats ready for geospatial analysis, including:
All processes are carried out under quality control and traceability protocols that ensure the reliability of the final products.
